Holly and her family, remembering her today

13 March 2024

At Post Pals, we believe in the power of joy and connection, especially for families who are navigating the difficult journey of grief after losing a child. That’s why we’re reaching out to you today, asking for your support in making our upcoming trip to the seaside a reality for these families.

Imagine the laughter of children playing in the sand, the warmth of the sun on their faces, and the feeling of togetherness that comes from spending time with others who truly understand. For bereaved families, moments like these can be rare treasures amidst the pain.

Holly and her family

Today, as we remember sweet Holly on the 4th anniversary of her passing, we think of her family, especially her sister Ruby. Holly and Ruby were not just sisters, but best friends, sharing secrets, dreams, and endless giggles. Ruby, only five years younger than Holly, still carries her sister’s memory with her every day.

For families like Holly’s, the opportunity to connect with others who have experienced similar loss is invaluable. It’s a chance for them to share stories, find comfort in each other’s presence, and create new memories filled with love and understanding.

Your donation, no matter how big or small, will help us provide transportation, accommodation, and special activities for these families during our seaside retreat. Together, we can give them a much-needed break from the weight of grief and remind them that they are not alone on this journey.

Thank you for your generosity and compassion. With your support, we can bring a ray of sunshine into the lives of bereaved families and help them find moments of joy amidst the storm.

Post Pals Memorial Weekend Appeal

09 March 2024

Post Pals is turning 21 this year. Sadly, in the past 21 years, over 50 of our Pals have passed away.

Most charities stop supporting families as soon as a child passes away; those who do continue stop after 2 years. Post Pals is holding a weekend event for our memorial families and inviting any family who would like to come together with others who understand.

With a fun day at Adventure Island theme park on the seafront, a 3-course dinner in the evening, and an artist who can draw everyone at the event as they are or include their memorial child if their family wishes,.

On Sunday, we’re gathering at the sea to read out the Pals names (including those of the families who couldn’t be there) and release petals into the sea, followed by lunch with live jazz music.

As you can imagine, an event like this isn’t cheap to put on, so any donations towards it would be very much appreciated!

If you would like to sponsor something specific,

Star £9

Arcade card: £10

Wristband for unlimited rides, soft play, and adventure golf: £24

Sunday lunch and drinks overlooking the sea: £39

Formal 3-course dinner: £45

The Bunty Fund

08 March 2024

very big thank you to Parc Vetcare for donating £1000 in memory of Bunty.

Bunty’s family spoke to us about some of our different project ideas and decided they would like Bunty’s fund to be used to send families to see Disney on Ice or a show of their choice. Poppy’s family is now booked in to see it later this month, and Seraphina’s family is excited to see it when the tour comes closer to them later in the year. Poppy is waiting for a multi-visceral transplant and has to be close to her house at all times in case her call comes. We were thrilled to spot Disney on Ice, was just within the permitted distance!

Three other families are deciding which show they would like to see.

Thank you to Parc Vetcare and Bunty’s family.
