I discovered Post Pals a few days ago through an online volunteering service, and today, I’m here sending two messages to two different children. I will do so each week if possible since there is nothing more fascinating than drawing sweet smiles on these lovely children’s faces.

I’m a mum of two girls. And Father Christmas sends my girls a letter-a-day during Advent. In these letters are jobs or tasks to do that day. In his first letter is for them to write to one of your hospital Angels.

You are a very under valued Charity and I will do my best to spread the word.

I’m 15 years old and live in the United States. I stumbled upon this site and now try to send a few messages a week through email to various pals. I think that this is really great, and I wish there was a similar site for children in the United States. Sadly, here there is no such site that I have found yet, but I am hoping. It is an amazing program, and I have benefitted a lot by reading the stories of the pals and writing messages to pals of all ages. I can’t imagine how brave these kids must be, and I am glad I can try to brighten their day with a little happy message.

Amazing places like this for wonderful parents and children, who disperse every bit of joy sent to them and any support they can get. I’ve been through some tough medical things as a child but I think at times it was worse for my parents with a real lack of support, which is why this is an amazing place.

    Hi Vikki!
I followed the link to the Amazon gift wish for the summer party, and bought an owl balloon, some zebras and elephants….then read that someone had sponsored all the animal balloons! Arggh! I’m hoping a few more animals won’t go amiss! Just bought the last pack of coloured hair extensions available from the seller on Amazon, you might have to find another stockist to get all you need. Take care, my dear, you are very, very special x

Hi to all at Post pals! Vikki, you are an amazing woman, coordinating such a valuable service from your bed. I have been bed bound with M.E for 19 years, but when my carers come, I try and get to my sewing machine to make wiggly bags and bunting for some of the Pals.
Reading all the stories of these poorly children and their families makes me realise how lucky I was to be well as a child, and to stop me feeling sorry for myself. Even though I am not able to post on a regular basis, I look at your site nearly every day and send love and very best wishes to each of you. Thinking of you all, Wendywoo xxx

    Hi !
After meeting with my church group last night and talking about helping others in need, I started thinking about my family and how I have nieces and nephews who either was in the hospital for long periods of time or who are still in the hospital. And having kids of my own, it broke my heart. I am very blessed to have found this site and am eager to start sending love to these angels all around the country. I’ve seen others with the same goal, but I have to say that this is the only one that is well organized and have more information for first time pals ! Love the site and the mission ! πŸ™‚

This is an awesome sight. What a great way to help make our world a better place! I really like that you can email or send to a kid personally, not just send a card to an organization in general. All the kids at my 14th birthday party made a card for a kid as a craft and I’ve sent a coupe emails to kids. All the kids on this sight are so brave and I hope they all know that.

I found your site after joining in with the amazing worldwide campaign to send 6th birthday cards to Danny Nickerson in Massachusetts, USA. To honour his incredible fighting spirit, as well as continuing to post letters to him and his family, I very much wanted to do something similar here in the UK. Thank you, Post Pals, for making it possible to be in touch with such inspirational children, their parents and supportive siblings. You ALL make the world a kinder place πŸ™‚ I’m doing a Post Pals Advent Calendar next month, by mailing a Christmas card and letter to a different child each day… enjoy! Much love xx

Heard about this organisation on Russell Howard and as my Great Nephew has been diagnosed with Meningitis I thought I’d take a look at the site and see if there was anything I could do to help but after reasing several of the childrens pages, I am at a loss at what I could offer, even a card, letter or gift seems too small especially with what these brave kids are going through. Also, I was wondering what has happened with the kids who have ‘Moved on’

This afternoon I opened a new Papercrafter magazine but after turning over only 3 pages after the cover, I got no further!
I saw a small notification of the postpals charity – I had never heard of it before and spent the rest of the afternoon reading about it on the website and reading some of the stories.
I am a very keen crafter and am going to use my skills to send hand-crafted cards and messages to some of these children. It will give a purpose to my craftwork.

    Hello πŸ™‚

I found out about PostPals while mindlessly scrolling through Pinterest of all places!

I am all ready to write and send (hopefully) a little ray of sunshine to children and their siblings. I have popped to the shops and have cards and little gifts to ensure that the Postmen of Britain are kept busy πŸ™‚ PostPals is a lovely concept for those children who enjoy receiving letters and those people like myself who would like to help in a small way pop a smile on a child face.

Keep up the great work. You all sound amazing – children, siblings, parents, volunteers and fellow writers πŸ™‚

Expect mail from me soon…… πŸ™‚

I heard about this website through one of Carrie Hope Fletcher’s YouTube videos and absolutely loved the idea of getting involved, as I know as a teenager and a child myself that I love nothing more than receiving handwritten and personal letters, so the thought of making an ill child happy by writing them one really inspired me, and I have written 6 letters today that I will send next week. I hope my letters bring a smile and I will definitely spreading the word of this charity x

I will def be sending some post but wondered if there is a ‘most needed post’ list of children who haven’t yet received/ do not receive anything very often? Obviously I understand the need for all of them but wanted to start with someone who hasn’t had very much!

this website is amazing! i have grown up around children with problems and know hoe hard it can be for them! Being able to send a child a card or little gift is great! My mum is a childrens home care nurse so I see or hear the things children go through. Altough I do think you should be able to send a card or letter to the childrens mother and farther as they will go through allot aswell. I have never hurd of a website like this it is a fabulous idea and the young girl who came up with the idea need cards and letters sending aswell to congratulate her on her great success! I will defiantly be sending cards and letters to these great children and there familys at least once a month. so yer well done on making such an amazing site for all these inspirational people.

This is a wonderful idea. The difficult thing is to choose just one child. My heart goes out to all the parents and carers as well as the children.

A friend of mine introduced me to the charity and suggested I may be able to help in some small way. I run a small business and feel we have a corporate and social responsibility to help raise the less fortunate.

Over the coming months I hope to get more involved with the charity to understand what we can do to support the growth and profile of the charity. Along with the odd donations and small gifts to bring a bit of happiness to the lives of the ill and their siblings.

As a father of 5 reading the site is a rough ride of sadness when reading the stories of the pals and happiness when seeing their joy at getting the simplest of things like a letter of hope or a get well soon card.

It’s a great idea and one which I hope we can help further with through support and gifts…….

have been delighted with the fun i have had since finding post pals just a fortnight ago thnk it was. sent of my first package of happy to a lovely child and her family. Then just couldn’t resist, so coppie down further details of address and names, fave things and such like, printed it off from the pc and have been busy……to say the least. I posted a second quick mail off to Courtney today , i had mentioned by an email it would be in post this week, i wasnt quite ready ith the full envie so sent soe quick post as didnt want any disapointment, they will be a little more when i have sorted a couple of things. I think this is an excellent site but very well hidden.it is great to see at uk site supporting people and better still children THERE are many thousands of crafters out here in the uk and sharing is something that goes hand in hand with crafting(well if you ask me it dose).I am going to spread the word in a general sense as that jst might help things along. I have had such a wonderful time putting together some childrens cards and gathering together some stickers and stars and things i have here at home that will add a smile here and there, and they certainly not doinganything in my cupboard. lots of people put presenst away ,little gifts throughout the year for christmas and birthdays, but can we always lay our hands on them when the time is right? or do we buy something more needing at the time.I think if everyone has a look, and those that can send somethig in and those that find an empty cupboard tell someone about the website or point them in the direction of the site.maybe at your local school, club or meeting whilst chattering and coffee.
I am delighted to have found you, thank you post pals for all the work you do,i have had quite a read of the website. bye for now, sorry was a bit long, expect you will chop some.

What a wonderful way to say “here’s a little happiness” from me to you!!
I love the idea and have sent a parcel off to Poppy. I told her in my letter that I chose her because Poppies are one of my most favourite flowers, and she was a beautiful young lady.
I hope Poppy got my parcel….I sent it to the address listed. Is it ok to give her (mom) my e-mail address if I would like to say “Hi” but not send a package every month? As you can till, this is my first time…..I am happy to “share”…please just tell me protocol and how will I know she has received my parcel?

    Warm regards

I originally came on this website to find a pen pal and now I’ve found so much more, I’ve found hope. What these kids have to live with, a young ages, horrific but their stories make you feel like you have to do something for them. Writing to tem helps them feel good and it helps me feel good, too. I wish them and their families the best of luck.

Hi. I just wanted to say that this is an amazing website. Every once in a while, say, every week, I’ll check up and look at different and the same kids pages. Emily B is one that I have written too. She seems very nice and interesting, and I bet if I met her, she would be an awesome person. I live in America, not UK. It seems different that these kids are in a different country-continent even! It is really fun near Christmas time where I live, it is a time of joy, family, friends, spirit, and memories. Each and every one of these kids deserves a “Merry Christmas” or “happy holidays.” With others help, I am putting together a shoebox and sending it to a number of kids on this website soon, before Christmas, to make sure they get their share of Christmas joy. Although sometimes it can be hard to understand what it would feel like to be through this, I am happy I am not, and am happy that these kids are getting letters and smiles that make them *this much* better.

This is amazing. I am not doing anything using this for school at the moment, but I looked up “write for kids” and this was one of the first things. I clicked on it, and this was an amazing website. I am going to try to do something called “non-secret santa”-or “christmas buddies” for the holidays. I am going to pick a number of kids to choose on this website, and then send something to them, making sure they know that the holidays are meant for joy, not sadness.

    Keep Strong!

My daughter has been organizing a goodwill project for our Californian students who are traveling to Europe next year. She became connected with a kind woman named Louise Hough who put her in touch with your website. It is exactly what my daughter was hoping to find! We have started a campaign to get the community to help us write 200 letters! We are also going to see about starting a smaller version of your post pals through the Oakland Children’s Hospital. She is still hoping to connect with some French-speaking young people because our students would also like to correspond in a foreign language. Do you have any suggestions for her as to how she can obtain connections with French-speaking children? Thank you for all you do! We have had many very interested people in our area!

Hi! I found this site through a link from Alice’s Escapes facebook page (sadly it was the link to Alice’s passing).
After looking around I have decided to not only get myself involved with sending out some stuff, but also am going to see if my eight year old daughter will want to make some stuff too (she has already donated her hair once and I bet she will be more than happy to participate)!!!
After I get offline today I will make a phone call to my mother and tell her all about PostPals, and hopefully can get her and some others to participate too!

    Hi.
I found out about you through a magazine. I had never heard of Post Pals before so decided to take a look at your website.
The work you are doing is absolutely amazing and I am now thinking seriously of getting involved with at least one of the children.
I shall also be telling my daughter-in-law about PostPals in the hope that she will involve my grandchildren as I think having contact with someone featured on the website will be of benefit them, as well as the person they choose.
I won’t stop there, however, as I shall be spreading the word to anyone who will listen to me and asking them to get involved in any capacity they can.
    Maxine. xx

    Hi
I have been browsing the Internet looking for something I can do to help others in need. Due to a disability I am unable to work and have taken up crafting greetings cards among other things to fill my time. I am so so happy to have come across Post Pals. I can now help people who so deserve to know that we care about them. I would be honoured to spend time making cards, small gifts, and writing to these amazingly brave people. It will be my absolute pleasure if I can bring a smile to someone’s face.

    February 7th, 2013

I found this page thanks to the mention of it on Russel Howard’s Good News on Dave. I’m not sure that I would know quite what to say when writing a letter to a child, however, I’m a private pilot, who has previously been involved with several charities. If I could make a child smile by taking them up for a flight in one of my aircraft, then I’d happily get involved. I’m based in Wiltshire. If this is of interest, then please contact me via the email provided.

My son’s godmother who has ME told us about this site. My other son has type 1 diabetes but that is beside the point, he is 5yrs old and spends all day drawing stories – some are traditional fairytales and sometimes he adds in some extra creativity like characters swapping stories and experiencing life from another point of view. He photocopies his stories and gives them to charity shops to sell. He is VERY excited that he will soon be sending pals his books to make them smile. And what a lovely site so easy to understand. Thank you.

I heard about this site lastnight through a friend and I have posted out a package today. What a lovley simple idea to put a smile on so many faces. I’m sure I will be on the site regularly to find more little angels to post to. When I tried to explain to My 3 year old son that ALL these children are very poorly he said ‘that’s ok mummy I will be a doctor’ I can only hope that other children are inspired by this site to help their peers. I hope that the children enjoyed their Cravendale Epic Straws. Next time there is a promotion I’ll be avidy saving codes again!
For now I’m now saving Andrex puppy points and Anchor butter codes and then send the goodies to the children – it doesn’t even have to cost anything to make a difference!

Thank you so much Post Pals for being there for my son (Jack B – passed May 2009) and being there also for his brother and sister.
In 3 years Both Rhian and Connor have changed – Rhian still receives cards and little gifts from some of the wonderful ladies who follow Post Pals. Connor has grown up and found his way – Rhian is still searching and your support is so very very gratefully received. Thank you so much. x

Gift sent to Nia in honour of the magnificent Alice. I’m thinking it’s probably similar to the one sent to Anna-Mae by Tina!

All love to Alice’s family, can’t imagine what they must be going through.

Her legacy will carry on, through her inspiration to bone marrow donors, and her establishment of Alice’s Escapes. Both of these may very well even be of direct help to pals in the future xxx
