Postcard Challenge is back for 2006!

Seeing the world from home...

For the summer of 2006, we are hoping for the Pals to receive postcards from all around the world. It was a great success last year with cards sent from so many places, lots of Pals now have boards in their rooms to display postcards and just love receiving them!

Do they have postcards of the town where you live; are you going on holiday this year? If so when sending postcards to loved ones back home, please send an extra one or two to some Pals and brighten their day. Many won't be able to go on holiday this year, so lets show them the world in their home or hospital room.

When you have sent your postcard, please place a virtual pin on our guestmap from where you have sent it (and saying who to), and lets see how many places we can get cards sent from!

Hello, this page is under going some much needed maintenance, please bare with us.

Once a month Post Pals sends themed parcels to all the Pals, additional Posty is also sent out when extra support is needed, and on birthdays. They were purchased when Post Pals was awarded a grant back in August 2003, and were imported in from America, as they are quite unique. They arrived wrapped in bright coloured tissue paper, with confetti and glitter, which the Pals love!

Check back every month to see the latest project,

BISCUITS FOR CHARITY!

What better excuse to indulge in some yummy, tasty biscuits than knowing you're helping young people deal with an isolating illness?

The Association of Youth with M.E. (AYME) is a national charity providing support, advice and information to children and young people with M.E. and their families.

M.E. (Myalgic Encephalopathy) is a little understood but potentially devastating illness. Symptoms can include: prolonged unremitting exhaustion, muscle pain, joint pain, severe headaches, cognitive problems, dizziness, stomach and digestive problems and many others. Some sufferers may be able to manage school or work with difficulty while others can be left bedridden for years.

This is why AYME's services are crucial. It offers support, information and advice to young people and their families. To many it can be a lifeline and their only way to communicate with others and feel that they are not alone.

AYME asks no membership fee and is run entirely on donations. So treat yourself to something nice, it's for a good cause!

Ginger sun shaped biscuits (handmade by von and frank) are available in packs of
15 for £3 inc. p&p.
Payment is accepted through paypal to vondage@gmail.com or cheque if you're deemed trustworthy! We hope to deliver during ME awareness week, 9th-16th of May, depending on demand!

April 2005

For Bear month Pals received a teddy bear with 3 Tshirts and fabric paints to design their teddy's shirts, it also came with a gift bag and a hand made teddy card.

March 2005

Sheelagh (Poster) very kindly donated craft kits which make up a little posy of foam flowers for the Pals to give to their Mum's on Mothers day. Very big thank you to Sheelagh.

September- Autumn

These foam leaves are glued together around a cardboard wreath, before wiggly eyes are added, some of the leaves have smiley faces, and leaf related greetings!

August- National Friendship Week

These are quite different from anything else we have come across. First you assemble the plain white jigsaw puzzle, then colour it in- any design you like. After that's complete, take the puzzle apart, and glue around the edge of a photo frame, and to keep in with Friendship week, display a picture of your favourite friend.

July 4th- Independence Day

Triple flag frames, were this months Posty, again made from foam, all the pre-cut pieces are assembled, and threaded together to create a stunning frames which look like an American flag, again allowing 3 photographs or pictures to be displayed.

June- Start of Summer,

Pals were sent a craft kit, the first task is to assemble the foam pieces to make a letter holder, in which to keep their Posty, next to decorate with lots of foam flowers, leaves and bee's which were also sent. This allowed for creativity and fun, with a very attractive end result.

May 1st to 9th National Pet week.

During Pet week, 2 bits of posty were sent, one being animal slates, which you write on, then magically disappear, and also funky animal photo holders. Again this came in the form of a craft kit, which the Pal made up, then displayed 3 photographs in.

April- Easter

Craft kits were sent, which the Pal made up to produce fun Easter themed puppets.

March 3rd, National, I want to make you happy day.

Sent were smiling bouncing balls, and big bendy smiley man.

February 14th Valentines Day,

The Pals were all sent glow sticks, and adapters to make them into glowing glasses, Nicole said, "I really liked the glow sticks, Daddy put the glasses on and danced around, he looked silly".

January 21st, National Hug day.

The Pals were sent a cuddly animal to hug.
