Ryan's Keyrings
Harry G's sister Ellie and their Mum set about organising Post Pals' biggest fundraiser to date! Ellie said;
"At the Post Pals BBQ I realised what a nice charity Post Pals is and that I would like to help them by raising money to help other kids as Harry G has been.
At my school I put forward Post Pals to be our charity for this year and I am organising a sponsored rollerblade for 19th October 2008."
With hard work and lots of planning the day kept growing a growing and soon there was a big team of people on different types of wheels, led by a police car (complete with blues and two's!), followed by an ambulance and ending with a BBQ at a local pub.
Donations are still coming in, however, they think the total might hit £700, the largest amount ever raised for us.
A special thank you to;
PC Andy Heritage, Staffordshire Police who lead procession
Ambulance at the end
PC at Cowley Lane asking oncoming traffic to hold back
Julie and Damian for last minute BBQ
Gnosall Family Butchers for providing excellent burgers and sausages
George Yeoman, builder in Gnosall, for sponsoring tee shirts and providing last minute sign to change of venue to The Boat
The Boat Inn, Gnosall, for providing last minute venue
Telford Football Club for donating tickets
The Bakery, Wharf Road, Gnosall, for donating squash and sweets for the girls
All the girls who took part, local papers for covering the story and everyone who sponsored them, for every 50p raised we will be able to create a smile. So at the moment it's looking like they may have created 1400 smiles - which is a lot of grins to go around!
And of course a very, very speical thank you to Ellie and her Mum Sue for organising all of this, I know it took an awful lot of hard work to pull off such an amazing day - THANK YOU!
Below are some pictures of the day.
