Nephrotic Syndrome FSGS

Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a rare disease that attacks the kidney’s filtering system (glomeruli) causing serious scarring. FSGS is one of the causes of a serious condition known as Nephrotic Syndrome. FSGS is the second most common cause of Nephrotic syndrome in children. Nephrotic syndrome is a disorder in which the kidneys are damaged, causing them to leak large amounts of protein from the blood into the urine.
